1st Annual SVM Classic Car Show

July 31 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

On Saturday, July 31st, from 9:00am-4:00pm, the Swannanoa Valley Museum and History Center will be hosting Black Mountain’s first Annual Classic Car Show. Themed “Rock the Classics,” this show will feature cars from the 1900s thru the 1980s. Attendees will be able to vote on trophies for vehicles, enjoy country music entertainment, purchase sno-cones from a local vendor, and participate in a 50/50 raffle, with half of the winnings going to support the Swannanoa Valley Museum. Attendees will vote for the categories of Oldest Car, Best in Show, and People’s Choice. There will also be activities for children in a “kid’s zone” with chalk, coloring sheets and a craft activity.

  • Awards Announcement: 3pm
  • Raffle Winner Announcement: 3:30pm
  • Break Down Time: 4pm – 5pm

Getting There: From Route 40, take Exit 64 for Black Mountain. At the exit, turn North on Route 9 towards Black Mountain. The first left turn available will be Terry Estate Drive, just after passing the Pizza Hut. Take a left onto this road. The car show will be a block and half down on the right.

Location & Parking for Visitors: Parking lot across from 304 Black Mountain Ave, Black Mountain, NC 28711. This lot is across from the Town of Black Mountain Parks and Rec Department, and beside Mellie Mack’s Garden Shack. We encourage visitors to park in the following locations: Bi-Lo parking lot on Route 9, SunTrust parking lot on Route 9, and the public parking lots in downtown Black Mountain.

Food and Facilities: Pelicans SnoBalls will be vending at the event. Many restaurants are within walking distance of the car show, including Louise’s Kitchen, Foothills, Que Sera, and the Pizza Machine- all located on Black Mountain Avenue. Porta Johns will be on site.
