Pollinator Day
May 29, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us on Saturday, May 29th for Pollinator Day! This event is a collaboration between BMCA and the Swannanoa Valley Museum and History Center to celebrate the importance of pollinators and pollinator gardens in our environment.
Starting at 10am there will be free art crafts offered behind both of our buildings. At 1pm, Emily Sampson of Patchwork Meadows will be doing a garden talk at the pollinator garden she installed behind our buildings last year. At 2pm local artist Nate Barton is teaching a butterfly earring workshop. Registration for the workshop is $30, and you can sign up using this link (https://www.blackmountainarts.org/visualart). There will be a pop-up pottery and plant market in the back of BMCA from 10-2, and local artist Clayton Sharp will have his photography on display in our gallery. The Swannanoa Valley Museum will provide children’s activities including chalk and whirligig making.
This is sure to be a beautiful day celebrating pollinators and all they do for our environment. We hope to see you here
